A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a typo. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of junk email messages, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
Configuring a catch-all e-mailbox will be remarkably easy if you have a hosting service with us. You can activate this feature through our powerful, albeit simple-to-use Email Manager tool, which is integrated into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer the hosting account itself. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you’ve set up shown alphabetically and to the right of each of them there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately show you if a specific mailbox gets all the email messages for a certain domain or not. With a single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you wish. In case there is enabled email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you’ll receive a warning notification from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically or without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The custom Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will permit you to configure a catch-all email mailbox without any difficulty even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you’ve created using your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will notify you if you’ve already created another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. If you reach the decision that you do not need this feature any longer, you can turn it off by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
